- Sunderland Vs Southampton
- Middlesbrough Vs Everton
- Liverpool Vs Tottenham Hotspurs
So, presenting to you below the review of today’s matches.
Arsenal Vs Hull City
Full Time Score : 2-0
Arsenal : Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs; Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi and Sanchez
Hull City : Jakupovic, Elabdellaoui, Maguire, Ranocchia, Robertson; Huddlestone, N’Diaye; Grosicki, Clucas, Markovic and Niasse
Players who stood out in today’s game were of course Sanchez and Ozil (who surprisingly was ever present today creating and making chances) but Cech definitely deserves a mention as he answered his critics by producing a couple of good saves that ensured that Hull didn’t put pressure on Arsenal. From Hull’s point of view Niasse had a good game. Definitely had a few chances to score but lacked that finishing.
Overall a good entertaining game which Arsenal won with some comfort and for a few hours sit 3rd in the Premier league table.
Manchester United Vs Watford
Full Time Score : 2-0
Teams News :
Man. United : DeGea, Valencia, Smalling, Bailly, Blind, Herrera, Pogba, Mata, Mikhitaryan, Martial and Ibrahimovic
Watford : Gomes, Cathcart, Kaboul, Prödl, Britos, Cleverley, Capoue, Niang, Zárate, Holebas and Deeney
It was a completely dominant display by the home team. They were not too eager nor were they holding back. United used their chances when they got it. There were more than a couple of long range efforts on goal from United while Watford didn’t test United’s defense as much as we hoped they would.
The first goal was scored in the 32nd minute was very neat game play. Almost flawless. A Martial assist and Mata goal. A free kick by Watford that made DeGea stretch to keep the ball out was the one decent effort by the away team. Second goal by Man. United was scored by Martial and it was really a piece of cake for the player but Ibra got an assist to his name for that goal. I however would like to stress that had Gomes not made the saves that he did, United would have scored at least 4 more goals.
Over all it was the Manchester United of the old.
Stoke City Vs Crystal Palace
Full Time Score : 1-0
Stoke : Grant, Bardsley, Shawcross, M. Indi, Pieters; Whelan, Adam, Arnautovic, Allen, Ramadan and Crouch
Crystal Palace : Hennessey, Ward, Tomkins, Delaney, Van Aanholt, Milivojevic, McAArthur, Puncheon, Townsend, Zaha and Benteke
Joe Allen, they guy who everyone thought must be benched or even rested for the match turned out to be vital for them as it was his goal that gave the victory to Hugh’s team.
An evenly matched football game and it was really a shame the given the talent that he had at his disposal, big Sam was not able to make Palace win.
Sunderland Vs Southampton
Full Time Score : 0-4
Team News :
Sunderland : Mannone, Jones, Oviedo, Kone, O’Shea, Denayer, Ndong, Larsson, Gibson, Januzaj and Defoe
Southampton : Forester, Cedric, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Romeo, Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Redmond and Gabbiadini
Overall, Southampton played a patient game and scored their goals with absolute certainty. David Moyes just needs to come up with a solution to save Sunderland and fast.
West Ham United Vs West Brom
Full Time Score : 2-2
Middlesbrough Vs Everton
Full Time Score : 0-0
Team News :
Liverpool Vs Tottenham
Full Time Score :
Team News :
Liverpool : Mignolet; Clyne, Matip, Lucas, Milner; Henderson, Lallana, Wijnaldum; Mane, Coutinho, Firmino
Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Dembele, Wanyama; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Kane
The first half of the match was really an exhibition by Liverpool. A disaster for Tottenham’s defense Ben Davis and to worsen that Mane scores two goals in 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Liverpool we just totally dominant.
For Tottenham,, Dembele and Wanayama seemed to be the only players playing for the team but there is only so much that they can do. None of the big names turned up for Spurs to pull them back in the first half.
No doubt that it was a frustrating game for Tottenham who were looking to close the gap on Chelsea and a major boost to Liverpool who were looking for a chance to break the jinx and return to play attractive football.
